What this site is
An independent listing of paid preceptor openings and a guide to what they involve, and the front door to placements run by the mentor network. It is not a school and not a staffing agency, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any university or certifying body.
Preceptors
You confirm that the license, certification and practice history you give are accurate and current, and that you will report any change within five business days. You work as an independent contractor. You will not let a student see patients unsupervised, and you will complete the midpoint and final evaluations honestly and on time.
Fees
Your rate is whichever figure stood on your preferences page when you accepted the card. A block pays that figure for every hour the program's log credits to you, released in two deposits. A placement that ends early pays for the hours logged. A 1099-NEC is issued each January where the year reaches $600 or more. Your taxes and your insurance remain yours.
What we will not do
Send a student to a clinician whose credential the program does not accept. Report hours that a log does not evidence. Promise you a placement by any particular date.
Leaving the list
Tell your coordinator and you are off it. A placement already running should be finished, or handed over with the program's agreement, and every hour logged is paid either way.
Liability and governing law
We coordinate placements. We do not supervise clinical care and are not answerable for clinical decisions taken by preceptors or students. Liability is capped at the fees paid or payable for the placement in question, except where the law forbids that cap. These terms are governed by the law of North Carolina.
